Nirrti Is Bad News …

Nirrti was once a System Lord, until her fellow Goa’uld stripped her of that rank and her territories for conspiring against them.
She wiped out the population of Hanka (and that probably wasn’t the only planet).
She has a cool personal cloaking device.
She loves experimenting on the innocent, regardless of the consequences.
What she wants most is a hok’taur to be her super-powered host!

“Metamorphosis” Facts:

The episode opens with a victim of Nirrti’s experimentation arriving at Stargate Command and quickly deteriorating. One shot actually showed the poor guy exploding on the hospital gurney — but was edited because it was deemed a bit too gory for the show.
A number of familiar faces return under the prosthetic make-up of the mutations inflicted by Nirrti (and her inability to use Ancient tech right) — including Alex Zahara (Eggar), who had formerly played the hippie Michael, Xe’ls, the leader of the “Foothold” aliens, and an Unas.
Dion Johnstone (Wodan) previously played Captain Nelson, Na’onak, a “Foothold” alien, the Unas Chaka, and Lt. Tyler.
Nirrti’s discover of an Ancient genetic manipulation device gave her exactly what she had always wanted: an advanced human to serve as her next host body. But her inability to make it work for her served to show Nirrti as a member of the old guard of System Lords who were now passing away. In Season Six Anubis came into his own as the dominant power in the galaxy, in large part because of his ability to use Ancient tech left behind in the Milky Way.
Despite Nirrti’s grisly fate in this episode, fans would actually get to see the character one more time — thanks to the magic of time travel — in Stargate: Continuum.

Note the coincidence that Metamorphosis is being broadcast on air today, 4/25/16, on Comet TV at 12PM EDT and also 10PM EDT. SG1 is broadcasted on Comet TV Monday through Friday, 12PM - 2PM EDT and repeated again 10PM - 12PM. Additionally, SGU is on Saturday and Sunday 6 – 8PM.
