NEW GUY:
With the departure of Michael Shanks, the show was faced with the prospect of integrating a new regular cast member as the show made its move to SCI FI Channel. Enter Corin Nemec, whose character of Jonas Quinn was controversially introduced in the same episode that saw Daniel Jackson’s departure (“Meridian”).
By the end of Season Six Jonas had been fully accepted as a valuable member of SG-1, by Jack O’Neill and by many fans. But a second year was not to be, and with Michael’s return in Season Seven Jonas was written out.
It was a fantastic show to work on. It was a super high-end show; we did that season going on the SCI FI network, so they had to pull out all the stops. We did a really big season, with some really great storylines. As an actor, I got to really play some wonderful moments and to pretend that I was killing Goa’uld.
