Veteran actor and Stargate SG-1 fan favorite JR Bourne may be headed back to Syfy Channel on a regular basis.
The Toronto native has been cast as a possible series regular in Prototype, a pilot now in production for Syfy Channel. The thriller tells the story of three people “who inadvertently stumble upon an invention that challenges the very nature of quantum physics — a discovery which in turn puts their lives in grave danger.”
The pilot stars Cote de Pablo (NCIS) as Laura Kale and Jack Davenport (Flashforward) as Edward Conway. Toby Hemingway (Black Swan) has also been cast as a series regular.
Bourne will play Laura’s husband, Ethan, who is frustrated by his wife’s long hours and doesn’t believe in the work she is doing.
He’s best known to Stargate fans as the Tok’ra Martouf, who appeared throughout the first four seasons of SG-1 before his character was killed off. Since then he has also put in appearances on genre shows like Arrow, Teen Wolf, Fringe, and The Secret Circle.

Yay! There can never be enought shows with JR Bourne in!
I still miss Martouf every time I watch Stargate SG-1 – the show was never the same after the producers got trigger happy and killed Martouf.
Great News ! I liked Martouf on Stargate.
