The SG-1 team is headed back to your mobile device, for a limited time. Today Stargate is joining the massively multiplayer mobile game ASTROKINGS for a limited integration, putting characters and a ship from the television series into the real-time strategy game.
ASTROKINGS is a free-to-play interstellar strategy game from publisher Tilting Point (Star Trek Legends, Warhammer: Chaos & Conquest) and Korea-based game developer AN Games. Here’s how the publisher describes the base game:
In ASTROKINGS, players clash with rivals in powerful cosmic spaceship battles, manage futuristic resources and build planetary facilities on countless worlds. In a bid to become the absolute galactic imperator in the epic sci-fi real-time strategy multiplayer experience, players build their own starship fleet, customize it with powerful weapons, and command it either solo or with an alliance team to conquer the galaxy.
Starting today players can unlock or purchase favorite characters and elements from the Stargate universe to add to their forces, including Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson, Teal’c, General George Hammond, Vala Mal Doran, Dr. Janet Fraiser, and the Earth deep space carrier U.S.S. Odyssey.

Stargate’s place in the game is a 4-week limited event, officially licensed by MGM and running from today through Wednesday, May 26. After that players will be able to keep any Stargate items they have acquired.
“The huge scale of ASTROKINGS and its fantastic, galaxy-spanning storylines make it a perfect fit with the Stargate universe, which has been inspiring fans for nearly 30 years,” Tilting Point Co-CEO and President Samir Agili said. “We’re excited to see the huge player-base experience this special event with their favorite Stargate characters.”
First released in 2018, ASTROKINGS is an online strategy game set in an original sci-fi universe, with a story written by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (The Illuminae Files). The game currently has a 4.4 rating on the Apple App Store, and a 4.1 rating and more than 1 million downloads on Google Play.
Robert Marick, MGM’s executive vice president for Global Consumer Products & Experiences, said: “ASTROKINGS is a thrilling destination for gaming and sci-fi fans and we look forward to bringing one of our most popular and enduring properties, Stargate to the game. It’s a great opportunity for us to offer a new touchpoint to current fans of the franchise, as well as reach potential new fans.”
Stargate’s previous appearance on mobile devices was the story-based game Stargate SG-1: Unleashed, released in two parts in 2013. (A planned third installment was subsequently cancelled.)
