Gateway: The Official Stargate Convention is back on for this time next year, after the Chicago-area fan convention was postponed due to the coronavirus shutdown.
Creation Entertainment has announced that headline guests Michael Shanks (“Daniel Jackson”), Amanda Tapping (“Samantha Carter”), Ben Browder (“Cameron Mitchell”), Joe Flanigan (“John Sheppard”), Rachel Luttrell (“Teyla Emmagan”), and Jewel Staite (“Jennifer Keller”) have all re-booked the event for next year. The event will take place June 25 to 27, 2021, at the Westin O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois.
Other guests scheduled for this year’s event have also been confirmed for 2021. That includes Stargate convention favorites Gary Jones (“Walter Harriman”), David Nykl (“Radek Zelenka”), Alexis Cruz (“Skaara”), Dan Payne (“Kull warrior” and other roles), Alex Zahara (“Michael” the hippie and other roles), and Kirby Morrow (“Dave Kleinman”).
Tickets are back on sale now.
Creation says that fans who already purchased a ticket for the 2020 Gateway convention, and did not request a refund, will have their booking automatically transferred to the 2021 dates. (That covers the admission passes, photo op tickets, and autograph tickets — not your hotel stay, of course.)
This year’s Stargate-specific events Cal Mah 3.0 and GABIT — both in the United Kingdom — were also postponed due to the pandemic. Gatecon: Full Circle in Vancouver, British Columbia, also recently announced that it will postpone its summer celebration until 2021.
