During the discussion of the time dialation, the point used to possibly debunk that thought was the comm stones being used during ftl. Were they? I have not rewatched beyond a once through of each ep, but I seem to recall to myself a comment about only being able to use them out of ftl and I dont recall a specific time when they counterdicted that. During darkness Young didnt establish contact until after the power failure and the ship dropped out of ftl. I could be wrong, but it is an interesting issue.
