For a future series of Stargate I personally would like one of two options: 1). A series set during the time of The Ancients. 2). A series set around now, with new characters but with the potential of seeing some familiar faces. A new show can’t just be a fan service and will need to attract new viewers. For that reason a show which just continues on the story of SGA and/or SGU at this stage wouldn’t work. It needs to be present day.. its needs to be military sci-fi and they need to at least take into account the history of the Stargate program. Abandoning it at this stage will just cause mayhem.
But I agree, whatever it is needs to be able to stand on its own two feet.
