Gatecon Fan Convention Returns To Vancouver This September

Stargate fans are counting down the final weeks until the arrival of Gatecon, the legendary Stargate convention run by fans and for fans. The event takes place September 14 to 16 at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel in Richmond.

Gatecon features stage panels, autograph and photo opportunities with Stargate cast members and favorite guest stars, a charity auction, and lots of opportunities to hang out with other fans who love Stargate as much as we do!

This year’s selected charity is Cystic Fibrosis Canada, an organization near and dear to Stargate SG-1 guest star JR Bourne (“Martouf”).

The 2018 event is titled “The Invasion,” and will bring nearly 40 actors, former Stargate production crew members, and other friends of the show to Stargate’s home town of Vancouver, British Columbia. Guests announced so far include:

Amanda Tapping (“Samantha Carter”)
Michael Shanks (“Daniel Jackson”)
Teryl Rothery (“Janet Fraiser”)

Gatecon’s history dates all the way back to 2000, when Stargate SG-1 was in its fourth season. Fans and organizers made it an annual event — but after the 2010 convention Gatecon went on hiatus. The band got back together for 2016’s event “The Homecoming.”

In its history to date the non-profit convention has raised more than $300,000 for charities.

Tickets for Gatecon 2018 are still on sale at the Silver ($249) and Copper ($199) levels. Head over to Gatecon.com for more details!
