Our return to the first season of Stargate Universe — now nearly 10 years since it aired — continues in this week’s podcast! GateWorld contributor Sara Kehoe has been penning a regular column from the point of view of a long-time Stargate fan who is finally getting around to watching SGU for the very first time. On the podcast she’ll talk about her experience with Adam Barnard.

In this episode Sara and Adam talk about the second half of SGU‘s freshman season, picking up where we left off with the blue aliens in “Space.” They’ll also touch on musical montages in the show, connecting with the characters, and the writers’ willingness to take risks. They will also talk about the appearances of members of the SG-1 team on the show, and break down those bloody final moments of the cliffhanger finale.

Has anyone ever revisited Daniel's Grandpa Nick, and the giant Aliens? I would love to know any theories or references beyond the one episode.

The Nakai aliens were done by the same group that created the aliens in District 9. This was probably the best team available to create CGI aliens at the time.
