• As far as the "drinking while on duty" thing goes, if you notice, everything Col. Young does or says with Telford is designed to annoy him or get him angry. He also knows how Telford is really upset to be left behind, and he even says that to his face, "I'm here, you're not." So all these little things are designed to get Telford to slip up, to break, to confess.

  As far as Camille goes, she's a whiney wannabe leader. The minute Young would clue her in she'd go all soft on Telford, accusing Young of being "mean." Young is just doing his job trying to save everyone's lives here.

  While Young may not be the most communactive leader, he's been thrown into a very difficult situation and is learning to cope with it like everyone else. I think this episode really shows him stepping into the leadership role he has been avoiding in the past. Again, he's trying to save everyone's lives here.

• It's a valid point about the Scottish accent and the fact that Rush should speak Scottish while in Telford's body. However, it's hard for a person to do another accent even if he knows the theory of how to produce it even in real life and maybe, using stones, the speech apparatus isn't controlled as much by the person who switches over to override the way how speech sounds are produced.

  I mean usually there comes signal from the brain to utter not only those sounds but also in a specific manner how to do that. Maybe somewhere in the process the brain does not rely information and the manner (accent) how the speech is made, follows the existing patterns of Telford.

  Also, it's a TV show and, as we see Rush on tv instead of Telford (even if his body), we should also accept that he hear Rush and not Telford's voice and that maybe his speech apparatus isn't controlled as much by Rush's conscioussness to affect his accent.

• As for Young- yes, he's not the best leader and yes, I don't like him less than Shep or O'Neill because of the matter.

  SGU is just a different show. There aren't many bright leaders in the military. Of course there are some but people are different. What's important is that Young cares about his people and wants to get them home- the fact that he's bad at speeches and has some other flaws doesn't change that.

  Also- the fact that Wray wants power doesn't change the fact that she cares about the people too. Even Rush wants what's best for the people, even if his logics (greater good) are different...

  In fact- there's no character there who wouldn't care about these people. Even Greer cares about them, only he has some issues with violence as a means to solve problems...

• I knew the accent thing would come up. 1st, everyone has an accent granted, some are more prominent than others. Beyond that everyone has personal inflections and such. It has been well established that people interacting with stone users see and hear things differently from the audience. Think of it like a stage whisper. Plus, the Lucian Alliance weren't fooled for a moment. And as for why they didn't send someone else. Well, they didn't have anyone else to send, Rush had the dream and it was a way to test him too.

  Also, Wraith brainwashing involves chemical dependency too.

• First podcast listen for GW for me...not bad, GW! Not bad at all :)

• The stones translates what the person using them says and hears. That was established in "Avalon", Part 2. I would assume accents get the same treatment.

• I don't really get the accent comments. In fact when it came up I just cried out in disbelief. The reason being is that it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

  Dr. Rush's consciousness was in TELFORD's body. It wasn't physically him. He is essentially just manipulating a puppet. The accent wouldn't come through. At most his speech pattern would, but Rush's speaks relatively standard English akin to the rest of the cast.

  I may be missing something but it just sounded like a rubbish excuse to crack a stupid joke, guys.*

  Other than that I do enjoy your podcasts but I wanted to put this across so this is why I'm posting.

  P.S. I myself am Scottish and must congratulate on your "spectaclar" Scots accents... :|

• leave Col. Young alone! the guy is a genius!

• the only reason Col. Young receives alot of flak from the fans is because he is the most heavily explored character of the season, which exposed his dirty laundry and his vulnerabilities as well as motivations. to me all his actions have been reasonable, and now his paranoia has been validated when he found out about the mole.

• I agree with bellboy. To us Scots were not intentionally putting on an accent for the hell of it, to us were just speaking normally. If we were in someone else's body when we try to speak we would just talk normally without a second thought.

  Since Telford doesn't have a Scottish accent when he speaks normally Rush wouldn't have a Scottish accent when he tries to speak normally while in Telford's body.
